About the bride & groom

Bride:

Katherine Clark grew up just north of Los Angeles in the Calabasas area. She moved to San Diego in 1997 and has called San Diego home ever since.

Groom:

Bernard Loveless grew up in northern Virginia and moved to San Diego in the summer of 2007. He has called San Diego home ever since.

How they met:

Katherine & Bernard met at the W Hotel in San Diego. They were both accompanying friends out on a Saturday night, at an upstairs outdoor bar dubbed "The Beach". It is a nice bar with lounge chairs, sand, and fire pits. Bernard's friend wanted to meet and talk to Katherine's friend, and so Katherine and Bernard met each other.

The Proposal:

Bernard had planned on proposing to Katherine over the Christmas holidays. They were going to be traveling to visit Katherine's sister Jen in Camarillo, just north of LA. They had a Christmas Eve party to attend, and so they celebrated Christmas Eve one night early, on Christmas Eve Eve. It was a beautiful evening. Katherine had picked Bernard up from work early, and had made a special dinner. They were sitting by the tree exchanging gifts, and Bernard told Katherine that there was another gift that she should open in the top of her stocking. She got out a jewelry box that she thought were earrings, but instead it was an engagement ring. They proudly showed off their new engagement through the holidays with many family and friends.
